That is to say that unlike kettle cooking where the chips are batch-cooked in cooler oil, ours are cooked on a conveyer belt in a traditional manner. However, ours are cooked in a light, high oleic organic sunflower oil

Humble chips are delicious, light and crisp. I tried four flavors, Creamy Dill, Plain, Smokey BBQ & Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar and liked them all. My favorite was the Creamy Dill. It had such a delicious fresh dill flavor. The only thing I didn’t like with these chips is that they are made with sunflower oil. I try to steer clear of all oils but Olive. I will still eat them since all the rest of the ingredients are organic, but I wished they used a different oil.

A Pup Above

I own four very picky pups. Two will only eat certain foods the other two eat something totally different, so feeding time is a whole event twice per day. When I was offered the chance to review for A Pup Above I figured I would give it a try but wasn’t very hopeful the pups would like it… I was wrong this time, they loved it. Since I already feed them a special natural dry dog food I have been adding A Pup Above into their daily meal. So far CHICKA CHICKA BOW WOW has been a big hit. We haven’t yet tried the TEXAS BEEF STEW or PORKY’S LUAU. The TURKEY PAWELLA RECIPE we gave them over Thanksgiving (thought that was the appropriate time) they were all a bit picky with Turkey the first day or two, picking out the veggies and eating the rest. After a few days, they haven’t missed a single bite.

Each package comes 3 or 7 patties each patty is 1LB. You just take one out of the freezer and defrost it on the counter or in the fridge. Once opened use within one week. I feed each dog 1/4 cup twice per day so my 1LB patties last a few days. I heat it slightly in the microwave and crumble it into their bowls over dry food. Sooner or later I will transition over to ALL A PUP ABOVE.

WHAT IS LOLA'S?

In our family Lola means grandmother. Well, Lola actually happens to be my mother; we’ve all grown to call her Lola now that we all have kids of our own. Lola is a word that is used by her grand kids when they see her, us as parents, and even close friends. Lola is passionate about family, helping people and cooking delicious food. So here we are sharing what Lola has provided to our family, friends, and neighbors. Her love through a recipe that’s fantastic and unique. Something that brings depths of unique flavor and makes anything better, a hot sauce for everyone!

HOW IT STARTED

The story of how Lola’s Fine Hot Sauce became a reality is one that comes straight from the heart of my family. A story born in West Des Moines, IA; my inspiration on how to bring Lola’s Fine Hot Sauce to life started back in August 2015. My mother entrusted me with her secret hot sauce recipe that she had been making for her close friends and family. It just so happened she had a few of these jars already made. I cracked opened my first jar of her sauce and it was amazing! Something so simple, delicious and truly unique.

 I started sharing it with friends and then one day I brought it in for a food day during my full time job. Right then and there was that moment, everybody who tried it said it was amazing and wanted to buy it. After that day the rest was history I decided to start Lola’s Fine Hot Sauce to deliver a quality hot sauce that’s truly unique and inspiring; essentially a hot sauce for everyone. I went to what was left of every Farmer’s Markets in the Des Moines area. 

Every market we would sell out and people began to ask where were going to be next!
