Holiday Gift Giving Review ~ Mrs. Renfro's Salsa & Barbecue Sauce Review & Giveaway

I have done quite a few reviews and giveaways for Mrs. Renfro's salsas but originally I was introduced to Mrs. Renfro's from a man named Huey. We have a vacation home in Rocky Point Mexico and Huey lived a few homes down. He was a full time resident of Rocky Point and a retired tug boat captain from Seattle. He was older and wasn't able to get back the US often and once asked me to bring him a case of Mrs. Renfro's Green Salsa. I always thought it was so odd, your in Mexico where they make wonderful salsa but you want me to bring you something I can just pick up from my local market. After a few times bringing it down (he went through about a case a month) I decided to give it a try, it must be good if he uses that much. 
He was right, thanks to Huey I have been hooked on Mrs. Renfro's Salsa ever since. Green is not my favorite though, like it, allot, but Roasted Garlic Salsa is the BEST! I can eat salsa on just about everything. I put it in my salad instead of dressing, on eggs, chips, in recipes. I  have even made some muffins that had the salsa in them, they were breakfast muffins. Salsa is the best. You can even use it as a veggie dip.  

Then Mrs. Renfro's has to come out with a BBQ Sauce. 
YUMMY!
Spicy and Garlic is my favorite. 
My stomach might not always agree with my decisions but the hotter the better. 
Mrs. Renfro's has a Ghost Pepper Barbecue Sauce that is to die for. 

This barbecue sauce is excellent on chicken, pork and beef, but best to me on chicken. 
It has a kick to it, so if you don't like heat, this isn't the barbecue sauce for you. 
I really like it, I love things hot!!!
It has the heat and a nice tangy barbecue sauce taste.

KuKuRuZa popcorn company began in 2004 in their home using a simple kitchen range and then expanded into the garage with specialty popcorn equipment before they opened their first retail shop. Now they have 18 KuKuRuZa shops in Washington, Japan, Korea, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

KuKuRuZa offers 18 year-round flavors and 2 rotating seasonal flavors so there is something for everyone. They have delicious traditional flavor as well as some very different flavors so trying something new is never an issue. They were kind enough to send me their Flight Carton to review which includes 7 different flavors. I am a huge popcorn fan so I was soooooo excited to do this review. They sent me their amazing Flight Carton which is seven, approximately 2 cup portions and it included their 2 signature flavors Seattle Coffee and Hawaiian Salted Caramel and then I got to choose 5 flavors. I picked Cheddar Cheese, White Cheddar, Jalapeno White Cheddar, S'mores and Classic Caramel. 

My all time favorite flavor of course is the Cheddar Cheese. KuKuRuZa Cheddar Cheese is perfection. It's a nice thick coat of cheese and so evenly spread across each large puffy kernel every bite is heaven. Of course I ate all of this flavor first and had a hard time sharing any. The popcorn is super light, fluffy and full of flavor. I never really ate sweet popcorn other than caramel corn so I decided to try the S'mores since I super love S'mores when I go camping. I was AMAZED at how delicious it was. Oh my gosh!!! It's not just a little drizzle of chocolate and marshmallow like I expected. It's sooo much more!! It has caramel corn that's drizzled in chocolate and marshmallow PLUS pieces of marshmallow coated in chocolate and then there actual chunks of gram cracker mixed it. I can not explain how yummy this flavor is. I'm seriously going to be purchasing this flavor for them on the regular.

I was also very pleased with their signature flavor Hawaiian Salted Caramel. It is made of their sweet Caramel popcorn but then as you are eating it you get the perfect amount of salty after flavoring. It truely is the perfect blend of sweet and salty.

​I picked the Jalapeno White Cheddar for my boyfriend to try because he is a fan of the more hot and spicy things in life. He really loved it and ate the whole bag himself. I ate the whole bag of regular White Cheddar and it was seriously delicious. Each kernel is light and crisp and fluffy. It amazes me how they get each kernel to pop so perfectly and evenly and all the same size. It never turns out like that at home. LOL

The Seattle Coffee is excellent if you are a true fan of coffee. It's not very sweet and really does taste just like coffee. This company as I mentioned before does have multiple locations in Seattle so of course they have perfected the flavor of their Seattle Coffee popcorn

I really would love to try many more of there flavors, in particular the Maple Bacon and Vinegar Sea Salt. 

This popcorn makes the most amazing gifts for the holidays or any other occasion you might have throughout the year. It's a great pick my up to send to someone who might need a lift or a smile or just to let them know you are thinking of them. All are very good quality, some are All Natural & Organic. 
Everything I have tried I like. 
You can find Newman's Own products in your local market, they even have a Where-to-Buy on their site to help you find a store near you. 
I have found that no matter what market I go to they have a selection of Newman's Own products. Usually in the health food isles but not always. 
Keep your eye out and try something out, you will love it and so will your family.

FIG NEWMANS Low Fat Fig Newman's are the BEST fig cookies I have ever had. They are so moist, the outside breading isn't dry at all and they have a wonderful not too sweet, just perfect fig taste. I have always loved the taste of figs, even as a young girl.  I remember begging my Mom to buy fig cookies when my brother was begging her to buy chocolate chip ones. I just love the taste and texture of them. They are now my after dinner snack or in-between ​​lunch and dinner snack with a cup of hot tea. Fig Newman's are the best brand of fig cookies I have ever had. I am not just saying that because I am doing this review, I am saying it because it's 100% true. They would be excellent set out on a tray during your holiday par​ties. These cookies come in LOW FAT & FAT FREE they taste the same to me, one is just less calories. But looking those calories does't affect the taste at all.

Fig Newmans also come in Strawberry, not my favorite but they are good. I came home and my boyfriend had ate the whole bag, so I guess they were his favorite!

I have not tried these but think I will pick some up. Anything dairy free is always better for me.

Crème Filled Chocolate Cookies Made With Organic Flour And Organic Sugar - My boyfriend loved that other cookie brand like this... I get them for him from time to time and he sits around with a glass of milk dunking them and eating them. I have had maybe 2 in 5 years. I think they are gross and hard. Since I don't drink milk I don't dunk mine.... THEN along comes Newman-O's and now i'm addicted, Thanks Newmans! These are so yummy, I don't even use milk, the chocolaty shell is just the perfect consistency, not too crunchy and not too soft. The creamy white filling is to die for. I just LOVE these and yes again my boyfriend ate the whole bag, but this time in 2 days. I got a total of 3. So I went to my store and bought more lol but he only gets 4 a day. It's only fair, right? =)

Organic Pretzel Sticks These are good. I have them as a snack when I don't have the Fig Newmans.  If you read the back of the package of what's in these, you will be very impressed. They are organic, yummy and a great snack for kids lunches, putting out at your next holiday gathering or just anytime you need something good to eat.  Not too salty or dry.  Just a good slight salt snack.  The Newmans Pretzels come in a wide variety of flavors and some with and without salt. This is the first set of sticks I have had. We buy the rods from time to time. They are perfect for a hiking snack.  This is the ingredients list: Organic Unbleached Wheat Flour, Organic Rye Flour, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Barley Malt, Yeast, Salt and Soda. I am not a big sweets eater. But when I do eat something sweet I prefer licorice.  My favorite is black licorice.  Newmans Licorice Twists come in 3 regular flavors and 4 sour flavors. STRAWBERRY, POMEGRANATE and  BLACK Licorice Twists are the plain flavors. ALL are really good and are made with Organic Sugar.  SOUR APPLE, SOUR CHERRY, SOUR MANGO & SOUR STRAWBERRY are all the sour flavors. I have only tried the sour cherry, I didn't like it, but then I don't like sour candies. My boyfriend again ate the whole bag in one setting. He has bought Newmans Sour Apple twists a few times. He says they are the BEST!

Newmans Own doesn't just sell treats, food and beverages for humans they also have great treats and food for cats and dogs. My lucky girls, Jacky and Molly got to once again try some goodies from Newmans Own. They were some happy dogs. Even Duncan our big orange cat ate some of the dog treats (he thinks he is part dog).

The treats were of course my girls favorite in their box. Newmans sent my doggies their own box, they were super excited when they realized it was just for them.

There is nothing from Newmans Own that I haven't liked. Even when I don't really like it that is more that I am picky and don't like some flavors (like strawberry). Every store I shop at has something Newmans Own for me to buy. When I have the choice of Newmans Own and another brand I always pick Newmans Own. It's always good and so much better for you, in my opinion.

I love to be comfy, warm and cozy in a nice pair of pj's. 
Sometimes on the weekend I stay in them most of the day.

The arms are nice and long, so when you reach up they pretty much stay put. Not too long though that they bunch up. There's a nice cuff on the arm too, it's the perfect tightness, not too tight, not too loose, just perfect. 
The hood just hangs off the back so you can wear it when you want.
I don't usually wear mine but have a few mornings when it's super cold.

Just in case you were wondering..... THIS IS LOUD VERY LOUD!
I think this is a great idea for ANYONE that lives in an apartment or a child in the dorms. 
I gave mine to my Son & his girlfriend. 
They live in an apartment near ASU, not the best apartment in town but also not the worse. 
I worry about them at night or when they are home alone, heck even when they are home together, I just worry. 
They have 2 windows one sliding glass door and a front door. 
I told them to put this on the kitchen window (it's large) and the front door when they are inside. 
That way no one can get them, ever!
I don't worry as much with the sliding glass door, someone would have to climb over their porch fence and more then likely step in dog poo, so I don't think they're going to do that. The kitchen window is in the middle of the apartment a room you can't see from both the bedroom or living room. So to me this was the best window to alarm.

Holiday Gift Giving Review ~ Beanfields Bean & Rice Chips Review

Did you know that beans are the ONLY food that the USDA lists in two different nutrition categories?  Beans are BOTH a vegetable and a protein source!  That’s a lot of nutrition packed into those small little bean packages! 

Beanfields are the yummiest chips I have ever had and since they are gluten free it makes for a perfect snack for me. They have an excellent taste, texture and crunch. Come in all sorts of flavors and aren't greasy like traditional chips.

Nacho Just like those other nacho chips out there but 100% better.  These are excellent alone, in a taco salad or with some homemade pico de gallo or ranch type dip.  These don't leave your hands orange like other nacho chips. Just your tummy full of yummy nacho goodness.  This chip like ALL Beanfields doesn't contain dairy as an ingredient and are perfect for vegan diets. If you love Nacho flavor and who doesn't you will love Beanfields Bean & Rice Nacho Chips.

Pico De Gallo My FAVORITE of all the Beanfields chips.  I LOVE the taste, the crunch and just everything about this yummy bag of chips. If I could I would sit and eat the whole bag in one sitting. =) But I can't so I won't.... My boyfriend and I went hiking last week in Sedona and this is what I took in my pack. He packed candy bars and nuts and I packed Beanfields Pico de Gallo chips.  I was so happy after making it up a large red rock hill 2 hours later to sit down with my water and Beanfields chips. With all the protein I knew it was the perfect hard earned snack for me.  The flavor is just excellent, it's like eating a plain chip with a scoop of homemade pico de gallo. YUMMY!

Barbecue I am not a huge fan of Barbecue chips, never have been.  I just don't like how they taste for some reason. But after opening the bag of Beanfields Barbecue chips that I wasn't really to thrilled to try my whole thought on Barbecue chips went away.  These were excellent. Not too over powering barbecue taste, just a perfect amount of barbecue.  They still aren't my favorite of the Beanfields chips but they aren't bad.  I will save them for my boyfriend. He likes them, so this can be his own bag.  If you are a fan of barbecue this will be for you!

Unsalted Black Beans, Navy Beans, Long Grain Rice, High Oleic Safflower and Sunflower Oil.... THAT'S IT! Nothing else is added to this bag of chips.  How can you not go wrong.  Plus 4 grams of protein and fiber EXCELLENT Chip.  I love these with salsa or even crushed on my salad.  They are just a simple plain chip, excellent alone or with a dip.  Plain but nothing plain about them.

Ranch The newest of Beanfields Bean and Rice Chips.  Excellent ranch taste, not too over powering but just PERFECT. Can be enjoyed alone or with a dip.  I prefer these alone, just as they are, right out of the bag.  Yummy ranch flavor and again  doesn't contain dairy as an ingredient and are perfect for vegan diets. Usually a ranch chip would have dairy in it, not Beanfields chips.  If you like a yummy ranch flavored chip this is the perfect one. Excellent along side a sandwich.

Salt & Pepper These are going hiking with me this weekend.  I hadn't tried them until last night.  A small bowl became my after dinner snack. I have one of those almost every night to thank myself for going on the treadmill and eating good meals all throughout the day.  EXCELLENT! Just the perfect hint of Sea Salt and Black Pepper.  YUMMY! Like ALL Beanfields chips these were so good.

Devera Naturals Story ~ From Garden to Face
In the summer of 2002, my husband’s business friend welcomed us, along with his extended old- world Swiss family, to his home in the countryside of Ohio for Sunday dinner. The natural setting of the farmland was relaxing and beautiful, adorned with growing vegetables and an exquisite flower garden.
After dinner, as we were enjoying the outdoors’ clean crisp air, Marilu, the grandmother, and I quickly landed on female chatter, as women so naturally do with each other! When I commented on her beautiful complexion, she responded by sharing with me a very special family tradition that had been passed down through many generations – one that she had carried on for almost 50 years.
Marilu and her grandchildren made their own natural skincare products based on recipes formulated by their Swiss ancestors based on the belief that pure ingredients provide the best results. Infused into the products were the botanicals harvested from their family’s flower garden.
I was excited when she offered me samples, as I was eager to try any product associated with this older woman’s beautiful, smooth complexion.
My own skin was often dry with the inevitable wrinkle or two or three (who’s counting!?). I tended to use the expensive department store brands and a few lower priced drug store brands. Few worked and those that did were expensive and often contained harmful, unnatural ingredients.
I used all the samples and was hooked.

I added the word "love" and that was because I dropped my pink sharpie and it left a big dot, the word covered it up. 
In the future I will use colored pencils to color these super cute cards.

GREAT DESIGN: Form and function have been key elements in everything we've done from day one

A few years ago I did a review for Violife for the Slim Sonic Classic Toothbrush. I still use that toothbrush today, of course I have had to switch out the head many times, but love the slim cute design. 
This time around I got to review Violifes Personal Humidifier Kit for home, office, travel. I am a humidifier nut, I have one in every room of my house, even one on my desk at work. I not only like the humidity they produce to keep my skin not so dry and nose from itching, but I love adding essential oils to make my home smell good and the oil to calm or energize me.....

The Personal Humidifier Kit comes with everything you need. Even the travel bag. So you can take this on vacation, to the office or just leave it at home like I do. I keep mine next to my bed. 
It comes with the pictured water bottle, that holds 27 ounce of water.
You can also use your own standard water bottle. 
This will last all night and into the next day. 
I always add 5-10 drops of lavender the water when refilling. I love the soothing scent and it helps me sleep better. 
You have the option of mist strength. You just turn the adjustable dimmer knob to deliver mists from 1 once per hour up to 3 ounces per hour. I use mine at the highest setting. 

You also have the option of using the multicolored LED light. There's a button on the back to turn this on or off. When I get in bed I usually have the light on, it makes an array of changing colors on my bedroom wall. But once I get ready to fall asleep I turn it off, unless I happen to fall asleep with it on. Either way it's not too bright so you really could sleep with it on, like a night light. 

The motor is SUPER QUIET, it makes a very slight humming noise, that really you can't hear unless you turn off everything in that area. The whole unit is small enough more tall then wide, to fit on any desk, nightstand or wherever you need humidity. 

I use a humidifier all year long. My skin was always so dry and I have horrible sinus issues. The fine mist this humidifier puts out doesn't get anything wet, it just add's moisture into the air. You will tell the difference within a few hours. Your dry skin will start to look less dry and you will just feel better. I used to get daily bloody noses, even days I get to work and get busy and forget to turn on my humidifier I realize within an hour or two, since my nose starts to hurt and I feel like i'm about to get a bloody nose again. 

Since this mist is cool, it's safe to put in your child's bedroom or keep lower on a shelf. Worse that happens is they knock it over and water spills. It also won't harm your electronics. So you can put it on your desk near your computer. The mist is so fine, it just goes into the air, it doesn't leave moisture anywhere. 

There is no filter or wicks. I just rinse my water bottle out with each new fill ( I don't really think it's necessary but I do it anyways) There no moving parts that you can see, everything down below where the water fills into the base.

As much as I love to bake, I have never baked a cake with a filling in the middle. I have of course frosted a cake
in-between two layers, but not added a filling in the middle. Until last week. 
I received Mrs. Fields Fill N Flip from Love Cooking Company. I rushed out to the store, bought 2 cake mixes and some cherry pie filling. I was told and I read in the directions you might need 2 cake mixes because of the oddness of these pans. I only used one. But I at least had the other on hand if need be. 
I sprayed my pans, put flower in them, so that nothing sticks and mixed up my batter. Remind you, I NEVER bake cakes from boxed batter. So this was different to me =) but I got it done..... I then added the cake mix to both pans and filled them close to the top, but not all the way. 
The shallower pan (cake lid) did overflow some, so next time I will add a little less to that pan. In the oven they went. 
I believe I cooked them 25 minutes I checked them a few times with a toothpick. 
When they were done, I couldn't resist waiting till they cooled, so I put a plate on each pan and flipped them over. 

They both turned out PERFECT. The odd color on the first picture is the flour in the pan. I think I put a little too much, but I was worried it would stick. I guess next time I won't panic so much. 
The first picture is the bottom part of the cake, second picture on green plate is the lid and third picture is the cherry pie filling added to the bottom. 
I of course didn't let any of the cake cool, not even before eating it. I was so excited to try it out I put it all together fast. 
In the future (this weekend) when I use my Mrs. Fields Fill N Flip pan I am going to add icing to the lip of the bottom and lid. It will help the cake stay together better. It worked fine the way I did it (just adding icing to the top of the cake) but to make it look nicer I will do a little experimenting. 

I should of let my cake cool before assembling, but trust me it was still super yummy. 
It would of been prettier, but oh well. 
It's the taste that count's right?

Such a pretty twine. Again really deep rich colors. Perfect for crafting. I have used this twine before (different color) for crocheting and gift tags. It looks so pretty and add's that personal touch to homemade items. The twine is super soft, since it's 100% cotton and you have plenty in just one spool to make lots of fun crafts. This is the Bakers Twine I think I will add with the Lipstick Red Hemp Yarn when making my Mom's scarf. The combination of the two will look beautiful. It will make it more holiday like since there is some metallic in the twine, but I think it will still go good year round since the metallic is lighter. The twine is also very soft, to me one of the softest of the bakers twine. It would also be PERFECT for gift wrapping.

Out of ALL the twines and yarns that Hemptique sells, this is my FAVORITE. Not sure why, lol I justLOVE the way it looks. The green along with the metallic and white just looks so beautiful together. I have not decided what to do with this spool yet. I think I might find a matching yarn and knit myself a scarf. I can either add this into the scarf or use it as fringe on the bottoms. Either way I am making something special for myself with this color. It's just perfect, soft and beautiful.

Thisapple butter is EXCELLENT. Way better then the apple butter I made/canned last week.
It's smooth, not too sweet and packed full of a wonderful apple Flavor. This is one creamy spread.
​When I read the ingredients I was amazed. Only 4 things make up this wonderful spread.
Fresh Apples, Apple Cider, Sugar and Cinnamon. Kauffman's has been making this recipe since 1915.

I love apple butter on homemade biscuits, especially when they are fresh out of the oven and still warm. The apple butter get's into the fluffy layers of the biscuit and when you bite into your biscuit it melts on your mouth. YUMMY! ​
Kauffman's Apple Butter has got to be one of the BEST apple butter I have ever had. Tomorrow I am making potato pancakes for breakfast and using this apple butter as the topping. My second favorite way to eat it.

If I ate pork I bet this would be so good with a pork chop. But I don't eat pork. I just know anything apple goes good with pork chops. But this All Natural Apple Butter BBQ Sauce also goes excellent with a grilled chicken breast. It's both sweet and tangy and has a wonderful taste of apples butter. . The BBQ sauce has the perfect consistency that you can brush it on your meat while cooking or just use afterwards as a dipping sauce. It's creamy, sweet and YUMMY!  Either way or both will make your chicken or pork taste even better, even beef. We had this along with skewers of tender chicken breasts, grilled zucchini, rice and salad. It was a yummy dipping sauce with our meal.

Since we have a tree full of apples still and I have done all the canning I can do it's nice to make
something different and delicious with them.
Friday I made this wonderful Apple Crisp from the Kauffman's Apple Crisp Mix.
It was so easy to use, all you need to do is cut up your apples.
The mix has mixing and baking directions on the back panel. Since most of the work is done for you all you need to really do is  add the ingredients , bake for thirty minutes and... presto, you have a hearty and
delicious apple crisp dish for everyone to enjoy.

Holiday Gift Giving Review ~ Fresh Wave, Review & Giveaway

Being a HUGE fan of Fresh Wave products.

Each and Every product I receive I review. I give it time, try it out, taste it, smell it, drink it, use it.Whatever I need to do to review it I do.  Some I don't like as much as others, some I continue to buy after reviewing and some I just can't live without.

As some of you know, my boyfriend and I remodeled an older home all of last year. It's finally done, but after settling in we realized we should of done something different upstairs. There is an odd odor, sort of musty and sort of sour. Not too overpowering or strong, but more noticeable on super hot days or when we close the upstairs windows when it's too cold or raining. No matter if we shut the windows, leave them open, it get's hot or cold the smell NEVER has come back. I thank this all to Fresh Wave.

odor-removing Spray
Spray away odors like you mean it. Don't cover them up! Our spray can be used on clothing, pet bedding, backpacks, sports gear, shoes and trash cans. Just to name a few. "How?" you ask. Just shake. Spray. Smile. For stronger odors, a few more spritzes will do the trick. When you smell "fresh air,” it’s working. Really. It’s that easy. (Hint: For special materials, like silk, try a little test to avoid water spotting.)

I keep mine in the bathroom, great for taking away bathroom odors and fast. Just one spray is all you need. I also spray it into the bathroom trashcans when we take the trash out, just to help any odors that maybe in there. 
Another great use for the odor-removing spray, skunk smells. We have a horrible skunk problem. I think they love our dog Molly, she runs outside to bark at them and they spray. Luckily at this house, she has never been sprayed (yet) since we leave most of our windows open now with the cooler evening temperatures, that skunk smells comes right into the house. YUCK! All it takes is 1-2 sprays of Fresh Wave odor-removing spray and the smell goes away. It's wonderful, works fast and has no smell of it's own.

This is that WONDERFUL gel container I was talking about. Our upstairs is a decent size room, maybe 400 sq feet and one container does the job. Mine lasts about 40 days.
